Also known as the Reno Air Racing Foundation, Pathways to Aviation is a 501c3 non-profit providing the engine to leverage legacy programs, instruction, and partnerships to facilitate educational success, labor force growth, and economic vitality.

Pathways to Aviation provides solutions to the Nevada aviation industry's growing workforce needs by informing, inspiring, and engaging its future labor force.

    Aviation Careers Preparation

    The Aviation Careers Initiative provides career development resources to high school and college students interested in pursuing careers in the aviation industry. The program provides guidance and connections to those expressing interest in aviation careers.

    Sign up for one of our new career and mentoring programs:

    Students participate in an interactive and focused program to guide through the career development spectrum, highlighted by:

    • Interviewing students to understand career interests, skills and characteristics
    • Reviewing and developing resumes;
    • Matching with aviation experts, who are enlisting to provide mentoring guidance;
    • Conducting career planning workshops;
    • Hosting speaking engagements presented by aviation experts;
    • Introducing to employment recruiters seeking career-ready talent;
    • Conducting mock and practice interviews; and,
    • Providing professional references for scholarships, college admissions, and job applications.

    Every step of the process is managed by Pathways to Aviation staff.

    This program is great for students interested in learning about careers and what's needed to land great jobs. It's even better for students interested in applied manufacturing jobs, as many of the skills translate across industries. And, it's ideal for students driven to pursue aviation industry careers!

    Thanks to the support of the E.L. Cord Foundation, ISTAT Foundation, Truckee Tahoe Airport District, and generous supporters, there's no cost to participate.

    Students and industry leaders may participate at both locations!!!

    Truckee Tahoe Airport in Truckee, CA

    Truckee Tahoe Flight Plan - Session #3

    Through a partnership with the Truckee Tahoe Airport District, local students will learn about the aviation industry, learn career preparation skills, and meet college and employment recruiters. The program will be managed by Pathways to Aviation staff. Participation of students will be tracked. Those with highest engagement may receive additional career/college preparation benefits.

    Session #3

    • Industry Presentations
    • Career Speakers – Why “who you know” can be more important than “what you know.”
    • Career Readiness Workshop – Students will learn about attire, first impressions, greetings, elevators, questions, quest/why, where, passing/closing, exchange, and followup.
    • Question/Answer and Brief Networking

    RSVP to ensure a spot, as seating is limited to the size of the room.

    This program is great for students interested in learning about careers and what's needed to land great jobs.     Reno Flight Plan - Session 3

    The Reno Flight Plan is an exciting program designed to introduce students to the aviation industry, provide them with important career-readiness skills, and connect them with recruiters seeking quality, skilled labor. At the same time, introduce aviation industry leaders to the next generation of local skilled talent.

    Session #3

    • Topics: Career readiness, resume-writing

    • Objective: Students will learn about what employers seek in resumes.

    • Overview: The session will focus on the job search process and resumes. The presenters will share the ideal ways to seek jobs and identify what they seek when reading resumes. We'll then conduct a resume writing workshop.

    • Question/Answer and Brief Networking
