    Reno Flight Plan - Session 1

    The Reno Flight Plan is an exciting program designed to introduce students to the aviation industry, provide them with important career-readiness skills, and connect them with recruiters seeking quality, skilled labor. At the same time, introduce aviation industry leaders to the next generation of local skilled talent.

    Truckee Tahoe Flight Plan - Session #2

    Through a partnership with the Truckee Tahoe Airport District, local students will learn about the aviation industry, learn career preparation skills, and meet college and employment recruiters. The program will be managed by Pathways to Aviation staff. Participation of students will be tracked. Those with highest engagement may receive additional career/college preparation benefits.

    • Career Speakers – What recruiters seek in applications and resumes
    • Career Readiness Workshop – Students will learn about resume-writing best practices.
    • Question/Answer and Brief Networking

    • Objective: Students will learn about job searching, hard and soft skills identification and development

    • Overview: The session will focus on skills sought by employment and college recruiters. The presenters will talk about trends and advancements in their respective industries and skills they seek in new hires. We'll then conduct a skills identification and building workshop.

    • Question/Answer and Brief Networking

    • Overview: The session will focus on the job search process and resumes. The presenters will share the ideal ways to seek jobs and identify what they seek when reading resumes. We'll then conduct a resume writing workshop.

    • Objective: Students will learn about attire, first impressions, greetings, elevators, questions, quest/why, where, passing/closing, exchange, and followup. Guests will help students practice.

    • Overview: The session will focus on how and why to network. We'll hope to have industry executives talk about trends and advancements, and share viewpoints on networking. We'll then conduct a networking workshop, followed by ample time to practice networking with the executives and other guests from the industry.

    Speakers' Forum 2018

    The Speakers' Forum is back and better than ever!

    We're working out the final details for the event...mostly the location and time. Mark your calendar for May 9, 2018 for an evening reception. We may have food, but it will not be sit-down, nor dinner.

    The event will feature 3-4 compelling presentations, networking between students and executives, interactive aviation-based stations, and scholarship awards!
