Aviation mechanic momentum

January 2, 2019

MRO-Network.com features an article about progressing being made in the aviation mechanic workforce.

According to the article’s author, Henry Canaday, progress is being made toward filling workforce needs. He notes that the majority of maintenance technician schools anticipate the number of 2018 graduates will increase 10% over 2017 and more in 2019.

The article further notes that 30% of mechanics are 60 years old or older and that new mechanics only represent about 2% of the annual workforce each year. As such, there’s a great deal of room for improvement.
