The launch of the Reno Flight Plan was simply incredible. A record number of students attended the first of four aviation career mentoring sessions at the Reno-Tahoe International Airport.
Eighteen students, representing eleven different schools, attended the Reno launch of our aviation career mentoring series of workshops. Guest speakers included Marily Mora, CEO of the Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority and Mike Scott, manager of the Reno-Stead Airport. Both leaders shared their career experiences, described their current positions, and provided invaluable career planning tips. They were the ideal presenters at our first workshop!
Special thanks the Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority for hosting the first workshop and providing pizza for the students and guests to enjoy. The River Room was a great location to host the first workshop, but could be too small if popularity of this program continues!!!
Each student received a special packet containing a phonetic alphabet, provided by JSfirm.com; the first issue of the new AviNation magazine; and, a unique Futures in Aerospace career workbook.
The next session takes place at the Civil Air Patrol, located at 601 S. Rock Blvd. Students were asked to bring a friend and a list of their skills to help foster a meaningful discussion about hard and soft skills.
Enjoy a handful of photos from the first session.
