We're excited to share that Captain Kevin Mannix will be the keynote speaker for the upcoming Pathways to Aviation Speakers' Night, taking place on April 6 at the University of Nevada.
"Nix" was commanding officer of the Blue Angels from 2006 to 2008.
"We're pleased to have someone of Nix's rich experience and interest in kids, education, and careers," says Eric Henry, Trustee Chair for Pathways to Aviation. "We thought it was a great opportunity to showcase our support of the National Championship Air Races and showcase its premier show event, the Blue Angels, at this year Reno Air Races."
A bit about Captain Kevin Mannix. He's a recently retired Director of Training in the U.S. Navy's Naval Aviation Warfighting Development Center. Captain Mannix has served as a battle director of the Combined Air and Space Operations Center, completed Joint Professional Military Education (JPME) Phase I through the Air Force Air Command and Staff College, attended the Joint Forces Staff College completing JPME Phase II and in 2012 graduated Summa Cum Laude from Trident University with an MBA in Strategic Leadership. He was the recipient of the Navy and Marine Association Leadership Award in 2001 and 2005 and has accumulated over 6,000 flight hours with 1,328 carrier arrested landings on 12 different carriers.
